AMRITSAR: Former Punjab chief minister and Amritsar MP Amarinder Singh would shift to a house of his relative in Amritsar's Green Avenue area, where Union finance minister Arun Jaitley had bought a house as he arrived here to contest Lok Sabha elections. Jaitley lost to Singh by over one lakh votes after a bitter campaign.

Singh's Personal Assistant, Vimal Sumbly, said the large five-bedroom house had been unused for a while. It will be Singh's residence as he shuttles between Amritsar, Chandigarh and Patiala. The house is being furnished.

Punjab revenue minister Bikram Majithia, who was Jaitley's campaign manager, too lives in the same.
