Amar Singh gets Z plus security

NEW DELHI: The Centre on Thursday upgraded the security cover for SP leader Amar Singh from ���Z��� to ���Z plus���.

Mr Singh would move in a bullet-proof car for road journeys with commandos carrying fire power and one sub-inspector of police in charge of security arrangements round-the-clock. Mr Singh���s security was upgraded from Y to Z just two months ago.

This decision was taken a day after Mr Singh attended the dinner at prime minister���s residence where the contours of the SP-Congress alliance were discussed.

Those given Z-Plus security include BJP leader L K Advani, chief ministers Mayawati and Narendra Modi and former chief ministers Farooq Abdullah, Jayalalithaa and Ghulam Nabi Azad.
