Allot unused government land to Jauhar trust, will use for education: Azam Khan
RAMPUR (UTTAR PRADESH): Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan today demanded the state government to allot unused and empty lands and buildings in the state to his Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Trust, promising to use them to establish educational institutions for the weaker sections of the society.

The trust would use the empty and unused government land and buildings for educational purposes, he said while speaking at a function here yesterday.

He also wished to see Rampur as an education hub. "Soon there will be a time when Rampur will no more be known for its knives but for its education," he said.

In an apparent attack on his bete noire Nawab Kazim Ali, Azam asked Nawabs to "leave Rampur". "Take your palaces and kothis with you and tell us whatever you need more," he said.

The Samajwadi Party leader also accused Ali of misusing Waqf properties.

Ali, the titular Nawab of Rampur, is considered Azam's arch rival and has been involved in a turf war with him in the district.
