Allegations on Gujarat farm land 'baseless', says Reliance Industries
NEW DELHI: Reliance Industries today dubbed as "baseless and without any substance" allegations that it got farm land at concessional rates in Gujarat.

Without naming AAP (Aam Aadmi Party), which had alleged that Gujarat government bought cheap land from farmers and gave it to RIL at concessional rates, the company in a statement said the facts are completely opposite.

"More than 90 per cent of land that RIL acquired for its plants in Gujarat have been bought directly from farmers and that too at more than the market rates. We have not violated any rules in the process of acquiring land and all rules have been followed," it said.

Stating that some politicians were making unsubstantiated statements against RIL for grabbing attention and instant mileage, it said, "They tend to make sweeping statements for instant gratification without corroborative evidence. We would, however like to make it clear that all these allegations are baseless and without any substance."

"Thousands of farmers of Gujarat are our partners in the process of industrialisation. We would like to submit that thousands of families in Gujarat have benefitted from the process of industrialisation and they are not only part of Team Reliance but also Team India," the firm said.
