Allegations against Robert Vadra a ploy to divert focus from big scams: Sharad Yadav

Sharad Yadav today said "some people" are trying to divert attention from the larger issue of corruption by raising a "new scam of Rs 300-500 crore".

JABALPUR: In an oblique reference to the allegations levelled against Robert Vadra by activist Arvind Kejriwal, Janata Dal (U) president Sharad Yadav today said "some people" are trying to divert attention from the larger issue of corruption by raising a "new scam of Rs 300-500 crore".

In an apparent reference to Vadra and Kejriwal, though he did not take any names, Yadav said, "by raising the issue of Rs 300-500 crore scam, an attempt is being made to divert focus from big scams".

"I don't know who are the people behind it. The Rs 300 crore scam is also an issue, but when the fight is going on with a mountain of corruption then what is the point in running behind camels and goats," Yadav said.

Demanding arrest of the Kingfisher Airlines chairman Vijay Mallya for "abetting suicide" of the wife of an employee his airlines recently, Yadav said, "Mallya will immediately make payment to employees if he is arrested".

Referring to former air-hostess Geetika Sharma suicide case involving ex-Haryana minister Gopal Kanda and his arrest, he said," Mallya should also be arrested on the similar grounds as the airline is not paying salary to large number of employees following which many of them are under depression".
