Will not indulge in any discrimination against people, says Yogi Adityanath
LUCKNOW: Yogi Adityanath got cracking hours after taking oath as chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, holding the first customary cabinet meeting and then reiterating to the press that his government will not indulge in any discrimination against people and will work for “sabka saath, sabka vikas”.

Adityanath rued that UP has lagged behind on the development front in the last 15 years that the BJP was out of power. He promised to take effective steps to ensure that the state makes progress under BJP rule. “My government is committed to lok kalyan (welfare of the people) without any discrimination against anybody,” the chief minister said.

His detractors have maintained that being a Hindutva icon, Adityanath will be vindictive in his governance. The chief minister said development of rural areas, with a special focus on the welfare of farmers, is a top priority for his government.

Asked about the development of Poorvanchal, which is known for its economic backwardness, the chief minister said his government will work for both Poorvanchal and Bundelkhand regions.
