All India Kisan Sabha stages protest

Farmers under the banner of All India Kisan Sabha on Wednesday staged a sit in, in the Anaj Mandi at Mandi Dabwali to protest against what they alleged the anti-farmer policies of the Governement.

SIRSA: Farmers under the banner of All India Kisan Sabha on Wednesday staged a sit in, in the Anaj Mandi at Mandi Dabwali to protest against what they alleged the anti-farmer policies of the Governement.

Later they also submitted a memorandum of demands addressed to Haryana Chief Minister to SDM R K Garg. Their main demands were to enforce the Swaminathan Commission's recommendations to rid the farmers from the agrarian distress, to hike the prices of farm produce in accordance with the price rise in the farm inputs, Compensation for the crop damage due to inclement weather conditions, Supply of adequate power and irrigation water to the farmers and to curb the sales and supply of spurious and sub-standard farm inputs like Seeds, Ferilisers and Pesticides with immediate effect.

In his address to the farmers, Prahalad Singh Bharukhera a Kisan leader said that dueto the wrong policies of the Government the farmers were entrapped in the debt.
