KOLKATA: A meeting between Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee and Congress President Sonia Gandhi scheduled for Wednesday in New Delhi has created a buzz in political circles. Political observers said that the meeting had the potential to rule out the possibility of an electoral alliance between Congress and CPM.

Supporting Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Banerjee said that she felt bad about the court order in the Herald case, asking for her personal appearance. Triggering a controversy , she said that she did not like the way Sonia Gandhi was directed to appear before court. She said that she would meet leaders of the Congress on Wednesday . "I will meet Soniaji tomorrow to wish her on her birthday .We will discuss these issues too." Banerjee was speaking to media persons after the meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Tuesday .

"We have raised the issue of NITI Ayog again (with Modi). We have again requested a financial package and a package for the flood that the Bengal has witnessed recently. We were assured of central assistance for the flood. However, we have not received anything as of now."
