All Assam Students' Union holds protest against inflation, rhino killing

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Students' Union today held a sit-in protest against a host of issues, including price rise, deteriorating law and order situation and unabated rhino poaching in the state.

Among others, AASU general secretary Tapan Kumar Gogoi took part in the demonstration here.

" Inflation is at an unprecedented level. Because of this, common people are facing lots of hardship," an AASU worker said.

The students' body asked the government to control inflation, mainly on food items, urgently.

Besides, the organisation also demanded improvement in law and order situation, ending of violence and adequate steps to stop killing of rhinos.
