Alert issued to arrest Sinha, Chaudhary

A day after I-T department served arrest warrants against Binod Sinha and Sanjay Chaudhary — associates of former Jharkhand CM Madhu Koda — the state CID on Thursday issued nationwide alert to arrest the duo.

RANCHI: A day after I-T department served arrest warrants against Binod Sinha and Sanjay Chaudhary ��� associates of former Jharkhand CM Madhu Koda ��� the state CID on Thursday issued nationwide alert to arrest the duo. ���We have alerted all the state police chiefs all over the country and also the all the SPs of Jharkhand to arrest the two, following the arrest warrant by the IT,��� ADG (CID) G S Rath said. The duo was asked to appear before the IT, the deadline for which expired on Thursday.

Sinha and Chaudhary are accused in money laundering case worth Rs 2,000 crore, in which the IT alongwith the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have been conducting raids since October 31. Mr Koda was interrogated for the third consecutive day by the IT and ED officials ever since he was discharged from the Apollo Hospital.

In a related incident, the I-T department filed an affidavit in the Jharkhand HC in the DA case involving Mr Koda, declaring that so far the seizure value in the nationwide raids conducted at 69 premises was Rs 23.65 lakh and US $3,430 only.

I-T���s lawyer Md Mokhtar Khan said that they have issued notices to concerned respondents and properties have been attached in the case of former ministers Ainosh Ekka and Hari Narayan Rai, and the matter was being investigated.
