Alarm at Parliament gate after vehicle hits boom barrier

An alarm was raised at one of the gates of the Parliament House on Wednesday after a car accidentally hit a boom barrier.

NEW DELHI: An alarm was raised at one of the gates of the Parliament House on Wednesday after a car accidentally hit a boom barrier that resulted in commandos taking positions and blocking entry immediately.

The boom barrier at gate number one was hit by a vehicle accidentally at around 11.40 am resulting in the alarm bell going off throwing the security personnel into a tizzy.

The ITBP commandos deployed at Parliament immediately rushed to the spot and took positions by blocking the path.

However, the situation became normal after sometime and traffic resumed.

According to the watch and ward staff, the vehicle was meant to ferry MPs during the session.
