Akhilesh Yadav today directed officers to take necessary steps to bring back people from the state trapped in flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir.

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today directed officers to take necessary steps to bring back people from the state trapped in flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir.

Yadav has also directed Resident Commissioner posted in Delhi to coordinate with local administration in Jammu and Kashmir and ensure safe return of people from Uttar Pradesh trapped in flood-affected areas, according to an official statement.

Earlier, Samajwadi Party MLA from Barkhera assembly seat in Pilibhit, Hemraj Verma met the Chief Minister and informed him that around 2,000 people from Lakhimpur and Kheri were trapped in Valley.

He requested the CM to ensure their safe return. Yadav assured Verma that the state government would make all necessary arrangements to bring back its people.
