Akhilesh appeals to Indian diplomats to endorse UP as brand

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today appealed to Indian ambassadors to popularise the state as a brand and extend cooperation in attracting maximum investment.

Talking to delegation of nine ambassadors, he said that their three-day visit to closely explore the state would economically benefit the countries where they were posted as well as the state.

Akhilesh said cooperation should be extended at official level for import of handicraft, agro-products, leather items, jewellery along with exploiting immense opportunities of medical, religious, historical and eco-tourism from the state.

He said besides being the largest state in terms of population, Uttar Pradesh was also a big market.

He said that by understanding the needs of the state, the government implemented sector-wise investment friendly policies.
