Akhil Gogoi's meeting with governor PB Acharya ends peace hopes
Akhil claimed he was invited by the Governor for breakfast where he requested him to intervene and ensure that the irregularities are probed.

The Governor on Saturday had breakfast with peasant leader and RTI activist Akhil Gogoi, who is also the president of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti and leader of newly formed political outfit Gana Mukti Sangram Asom.
Akhil has been bitter critic of CM Tarun Gogoi’s regime. He was jailed recently for protesting against the alleged gross irregularities in the selection of the candidate by Assam Public Service Commission.
Assam government had ordered probe in the APSC episode. However, Akhil has been terming this probe by a senior bureaucrat as farce and spearheading protest against the government demanding a CBI probe.
Akhil claimed he was invited by the Governor for breakfast where he requested him to intervene and ensure that the irregularities are probed. Governor has earlier held talks with APSC chairman Rakesh Paul.
On Friday last, Acharya met congress leaders and it was believed that harmony between the Raj Bhawan and Rajiv Bhawan (Congress headquarter) will be restored after the meeting.
Acharya advised Congress leaders to discuss problem with him before going to public. On June 23 last, Congress supporters protested against Governor. Congress alleged the Governor of being partisan and appointing RSS person in Dibrugarh University.
