Ajay Maken tweets on P Chidambaram appearing for Kejriwal government

NEW DELHI: Soon after a news channel reported that the Arvind Kejriwal government has lined up Congress leader P Chidambaram to appear for it in the Supreme Court in a case to determine the administrative powers of the elected government of Delhi visà-vis the lieutenant governor, Delhi PCC chief Ajay Maken sent out a loaded tweet.

“Congratulations! @PChidambaram_ IN -You have been exonerated by your one-time critic @ArvindKejriwal and AAP! Would AAP now apologise?” said Maken’s tweet. Incidentally, the Kejriwal-Anna Hazare movement had branded Chidambaram among a dozen politicians in a list of “most corrupt politicians”.

The Congress, including its Delhi PCC, has been constantly chiding the AAP regime over its persistent tussle with the L-G. Maken also retweeted an old tweet of Nagendar Sharma (currently an aid of CM Kejriwal ), which said, “Poor Delhi Congress leaders demand action against BSES, but their Sr leaders Chidambaram & Sibal argue in SC for immediate government payment to them.”

While there were buzz in Congress circles about Chidambaram’s reported move in his capacity as a lawyer, Maken reiterated ‘Congress’ fight against the Kejriwal government will continue. It may be noted that with the same constitutional arrangement between the Delhi government and L-G, the Congress government in Delhi had provided good governance for 15 long years.”

Incidentally, former journalist Jarnail Singh had soon emerged to get an APP ticket to successfully contest the Delhi assembly poll soon after he threw a shoe at Chidambaram during a press conference at AICC.Maken later tweeted "@ArvindKejriwal Did Jarnail Singh accompany you to request @PChidambaram_IN to take up your case?#JustAsking"
