AIUDF chief's purported video calling for an ‘islamic nation’ stokes controversy in poll-bound Assam

Controversy has erupted in poll-bound Assam following the video of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Badruddin Ajmal for purportedly saying he will make India an Islamic nation.

AIUDF is a part of Congress led grand alliance. AIUDF has claimed that the video is morphed and done to create rift in the grand alliance. Ajmal has threatened to take legal action against an agency for circulating the video.

He said, “The same agency had attacked me three months back and my charity organisations".


Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “I do not know if the video is correct or not. Assam police and Election commission must examine the video.”
