A training aircraft crashed while landing at the airport here on Thursday though no one was injured in the accident.

PATIALA: A training aircraft crashed while landing at the airport here on Thursday though no one was injured in the accident.

The accident occurred when trainee pilot Gurwinder Singh was trying to land the single-engine HUL-26 Pushpak aircraft of the Patiala Flying Club, officials said.

One of its tyres burst, resulting in the pilot losing control of the aircraft. However, the pilot ejected safely.

The plane was badly damaged. Singh had completed 70 hours of flying and was on a solo flight at the time of accident.
