MUMBAI: A 25-year-old air hostess allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in a hotel here, police on Sunday said.

The body of Suchitra Anand, an air hostess with Indigo Airlines, was found in her room at the Palm Grove hotel in suburban Santacruz by a hotel attendant last night. Anand's body was found hanging from the ceiling by the hotel employee who entered the room using a spare key after she did not respond to earlier requests to allow staff in, they said.

Anand, a resident of Delhi who is married and has been with the private airline for the past year, did not leave behind any suicide note, police said, adding the cause for her taking the extreme step was not known.

Anand's body was collected by her brother earlier in the day and has been taken to Delhi, they said.
