NEW DELHI: An air ambulance with seven people on board crash-landed in fields near the Delhi airport on Tuesday after both its engines failed.

The flight was coming from Patna with a patient, his two family members, two crew members, one doctor and a technician. It was approaching the airport to land.

DGCA officials said the aircraft crash-landed after both engines failed. “Our team is at the spot and an inquiry will be conducted. The pilot was in touch with the ATC, as it was in the final approach of landing. As both engines failed, the pilot crash-landed it in the fields,” said a DGCA official.

Aircraft Accidents Investigation Bureau (AAIB), a wing of the civil aviation ministry that investigates air accidents, has taken over the investigations of the accident, officials said.
