AINRC functionary murder: V Narayanasamy seeks CBI probe

PUDUCHERRY: Senior Congress leader V Narayanasamy today sought a CBI probe into the recent murder of ruling AINRC functionary Velayudham.

"I have already written to the Lt Governor seeking the CBI probe. I hope there would be follow up action on my request. In case there is no response, I will meet the Union Home Minister for ordering the probe by CBI into the murder of the ruling party functionary", he told reporters here.

The AICC General Secretary alleged that various incidents of crimes like murder, burglaries, and illegal grabbing of properties were taking place in the union territory without restraint.

The former union minister also said the government had not announced any relief plan for the rain-hit people.
