NEW DELHI: A five-member medical board of forensic experts from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, which was formed to look into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, will hold a meeting on Thursday.

The AIIMS team conducted tests to check for signs of drugs and chemicals and the viscera report is expected on Thursday, said Sudhir Gupta, chairman of the medical board, which was formed at the request of the Central Bureau of Investigation to give its medico-legal opinion of the actor’s death.

“The medical board which has been constituted on the request of CBI will meet on Thursday to review the viscera report before it is handed over to the CBI,” Gupta, who also heads the forensic department at AIIMS, told ET. “After the meeting of the medical board, we will hold a joint meeting with the CBI, Central Forensic Science Laboratory and experts at AIIMS.”

The AIIMS forensic team analysed the pattern of injuries and reviewed photographs, the post-mortem report, ligature material and inquest papers related to the actor’s death.

The experts visited the actor’s residence in Mumbai from September 4 to 6, questioned the doctors who conducted the autopsy and checked the condition of the mortuary.

The Supreme Court had approved the CBI investigation recommended by the Bihar government to probe the death of the actor. Rajput was found dead at his residence in June.
