KOLKATA: The All India Forward Bloc, a party formed by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to call an all-party meeting on declassification of Netaji files.

AIFB general secretary Debabrata Biswas in his letter to the Prime Minister said that Narendra Modi should announce the decision of declassification of Netaji files in the Parliament.

"The government should declare a time-bound programme for the declassification of Netaji files. The government should declare a time-bound programme for declassification of all files and call an all-party meeting," Biswas said.

He also wrote that the government should declare January 23, the birth day of Netaji, as "Desh Prem Divas".

The secret files related to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will be declassified by the central government beginning January 23, next year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced earlier this month when he met Netaji's family members.
