AICC General Secretary Gurudas Kamat slams Congress President Sanjay Nirupam for 'fake strikes' tweet
MUMBAI: Congress President Sanjay Nirupam is getting increasingly isolated over his statement questioning the ‘surgical strikes’ in Pakistan occupied Kashmir by the Indian Army. After Congress Communication head Randeep Singh Surjewala voiced his disapproval and distanced the Congress from Nirupam’s claim, it was the turn of former Congress MP and AICC General Secretary, Gurudas Kamat to slam Nirupam.

Kamat on Wednesday tweeted, “Honble Congress President Sonia Gandhi & VP Rahul Gandhi had complimented the Indian Army & the Govt for Surgical Strikes against Pakistan. No one else in Congress should abuse their positions to embarrass the Party and the Country.”

To further rub it in Kamat tweeted it with the hash # LoveYourArmy#TrustYourArmy.”

Nirupam had on Wednesday generated controversy with his tweet when he questioned the surgical strike and called it, ‘fake’. “Every Indian wants #surgicalStrikesAgaisntPak but not a fake one to extract just political benefit by #BJP. Politics over national interest’.

The Congress has already distanced itself from Nirupam’s claim, Surjewala on Wednesday said, “Congress does not agree with the statements made by Sanjay Nirupam, we have taken a serious note of it.”
