AIADMK stages walkout during question time in Assembly

PUDUCHERRY: All five opposition AIADMK legislators staged a walkout from the Assembly during question time today to protest Speaker V Sabapathy reportedly permitting ruling AINRC legislators raise supplementary questions 'without limit'.

AIADMK deputy legislature party leader A Anbalagan protested against much time being earmarked to ruling AINRC members to raise supplementaries, which, he said, resulted in questions of the opposition not figuring the Assembly.

He said only three members are to raise supplementary questions to the main one,but the Speaker has been 'liberally' letting some members speak, depriving the opposition from raising their questions listed in the schedule of business.

After registering their protest, all five AIADMK members, led by the party`s legislature wing leader P Purutshotaman walked out of the House.
