AIADMK gears up for Lok Sabha elections

CHENNAI: With an eye on all 40 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, AIADMK today asked prospective candidates to apply for contesting the polls.

Party supremo and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said those wishing to contest as AIADMK candidates in 40 Lok Sabha seats (39 in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry) can submit filled-in application forms at the party headquarters here from December 19-27.

Jayalalithaa had on many occasions exhorted her supporters to work for winning all the 40 seats to ensure AIADMK played a significant role in national politics after the general elections even as the 'Jaya for PM' chorus has been on the rise in the party ranks.
