Kolkata: Ahead of the SIR of electoral rolls in West Bengal, the names of approximately 44.7% voters (around 3.48 crore), have been uploaded on the EC website across West Bengal till date, after matching with the 2002 SIR data.

The total number of voters in West Bengal stands at 7.6 crore, as per 2025 electoral rolls.

West Bengal will go to assembly polls in 2026 and the SIR is expected to start soon. The data uploading comes amid the ongoing booth-mapping exercise in the state --an internal exercise of the WB-CEO's office, which will help to expedite the SIR process once started. It is believed to have been given an unofficial deadline of October 18-19. After the EC website closes, the data matching and uploading process can be updated through the BLO app when SIR is launched.
