KOLKATA: Amid political uproar, Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee seems to have started maintaining good terms with the centre, required to survive in the federal structure. Despite being a vehement critic of Modi government, TMC Supremo did not forget to send new year greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gujrati language.

And in turn, Banerjee received the greetings from the Prime Minister in Bengali.

"Glad you liked the New Year greetings I sent to you in Gujarati. Thanks for the greetings you sent to me in Bengali," tweeted the Bengal chief minister.

Banerjee posted the tweet a day before the BJP rally organised in North 24 Paragana. The rally would be addressed by union home minister Rajnath Singh tomorrow. Singh is expected to criticise the role of TMC government in Kaliachak incident and how the government failed to control the violence.
