Ahead of INDIA Bloc's meeting, Suvendu Adhikari attacks Mamata Banerjee for making friends with "Dimagi Naxals & Jamaat"

Kolkata: Attacking Mamata Banerjee over her "Azadi" slogans, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday launched a scathing attack ahead of the New Delhi meeting with INDIA bloc partners, alleging that she is the main "conspiring force" who I moving with "Jamaat and dimagi naxals".

Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee have reached New Delhi today evening. On her way to Delhi, Mamata Banerjee once again attacked CEC Gynaesh Kumar at Kolkata airport, claiming “CEC and the IT team of ECI as their main target.”


Adhikari said he will urge the Delhi Police and the Intelligence Bureau to keep a close watch on Mamata Banerjee’s activities as she is in New Delhi. He was speaking at the sidelines of Janata Darbar programme at the state BJP office.

Taking a dig at the former chief minister, Adhikari alleged that her Delhi visit was aimed at working out a "new conspiracy" is being hatched with the CPI-M leaders. She is moving with the “dimagi naxals” and ‘Jamaat’," Adhikari alleged.

Adhikari's remarks came at the backdrop when the INDIA Bloc, including the Trinamool Congress, Congress and CPI-M, have come together over their demand for action against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over functioning of the poll panel and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

“Our main target is Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, the entire IT team and ECI. This meeting is against all of them. I will say everything that needs to be said in the meeting tomorrow,” she said, adding “INDIA Bloc meeting is scheduled for tomorrow and I have reached Delhi ahead of the meeting. Whatever needs to be said, I will say at tomorrow’s meeting.”

“CEC Gyanesh Kumar is not Gyanesh; he is “Vanish ji.” You know that I have been calling him “Vanish” Kumar from the very beginning,” Mamata Banerjee said, in the context of Bengal SIR, where names were deleted.

Banerjee has held discussions with CPI (M) general secretary M A Baby, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and will attend an INDIA bloc meeting at Delhi's Constitution Club on September 30 to discuss the opposition's strategy on the issue.

Adhikari’s comments came at a time when Bengal politics is looking at very “unusual” proximity between CPI-M and Trinamool, the arch rivals for decades.
