Agnivesh says won’t call off peace efforts
HYDERABAD: Swami Agnivesh, who is acting as a mediator between the Centre and Maoists, on Friday described the killings of two top Maoists as unfortunate, but said he wouldn’t call off his peace efforts.

‘‘The atmosphere has become vicious following the killing of 27 CRPF jawans last week and the alleged encounters of two top Maoists late on Thursday. Both the incidents are uncalled for. It is a big blow to the peace efforts initiated by me. But I will not allow the process to get derailed,’’ Agnivesh told TOI from Brisbane.

The rights activist feels that the two incidents heightened mistrust between the two.
