Agnext Technologies offers to set up an AI center at Tocklai for tea industry

GUWAHATI: Agnext Technologies offered to set up an Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence at Tocklai at their own cost to accelerate data driven technologies in the tea industry.

Joydeep Phukan, secretary Tea Research Association (TRA)said that Chairman TRA agreed in principle to offer some space at the campus and Agnext will build a state of the art facilities.

He said It is a collaborative effort between TRA Tocklai and Agnext Technologies to fully work on artificial intelligence and data driven technology. This will be the first of its kind for tea industry globally.


Assam is the largest producer of tea in India and accounts for 52 percent of India’s tea. In 2018, Assam’s production touched 692 million kgs.
