Agitations, bandhs get on Hyderabadis’ nerves
Three weeks of uncertainty, agitations and a string of bandhs has exasperated denizens who say they’ve had enough.

Work, they say, has been disrupted over and over again from the beginning of December and stepping out of home has turned into an adventure sport. Business has hit an alltime low. With the year drawing to an end, the ‘aam aadmi ’ of Hyderabad says that peace needs to be restored in Hyderabad at the earliest so that the New Year starts on a fresh, work-oriented note.
‘‘ The entire state is at stake so is our business, employment and even our reputation as people who can deliver. In their struggle for existence, politicians have played with the life of the common man,’’ says realtor M Madhusudan, adding that Hyderabad or its people cannot deal with another such episode.
Business has been the main casualty in the last few weeks of uncertainty. Hotelier D Venugopal says that he hasn’t made a penny for quite some time and has little hope of business picking up even in the festive season. ‘‘ They don’t realise they have jeopardised the common man’s life,’’ he says.
