New Delhi: The BJP’s national spokesman Gaurav Bhatia said the Congress should resist making false allegations and work to strengthen the country. He was reacting to the allegations made by senior Congress leaders that sensitive information was shared with television anchor Arnab Goswami and that there should be an inquiry into it. A day earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi too had raised the issue in his media briefing.

“Even when Uri attack took place everyone in the country knew that our army would respond strongly to it. If everyone knew it, why is the opposition raising questions on our army and the government?” Bhatia told media persons. “Congress is saying that sensitive information is being leaked. I want to remind them that sensitive information related to AgustaWestland and defence deals reached the middlemen during their government.” Bhatia said the BJP is a party with “country first” as its motto and that the party’s government will never compromise on issues of national interest.
