After Sukma attack, Centre vows to eliminate Maoist menace
NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, returning from the spot of the recent major Maoist attack killing a dozen CRPF personnel in Chattisgarh, vowed in the Lok Sabha to launch a fight to finish to eliminate the Maoist menace. He was making a statement in the Lower House on his on-the-spot visit to the area of incident.

Assuring the House that Centre was committed to firmly tackle the Maoists problem with a multi-pronged strategy and by offering all possible resources to the state governments to deal with the menace, Singh said, “I would like to reiterate that the Central government is committed firmly to tackle the Left Wing Extremism. It is our firm commitment to provide every possible assistance to the security forces and we will continue the operations till this problem is fully eradicated”.

Singh said the latest Maoist strike was a desperate act after the extremists’ morale was weakened after the Government put in place a multi- pronged strategy including security related and development-oriented initiatives to empower and reinforce the rights and entitlements of tribals and other weaker sections.
