After Raghuram Rajan, Subramaniam Swamy declares Arvind Kejriwal as his next target

NEW DELHI: Apparently seeking to latch onto the perception about him having played a role in RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan not getting a second term in office, BJP’s Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Subramaniam Swamy, said on Monday that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was next on his target.

“I was after (Raghuram) Rajan and now he is gone. In this, too, I will tell the government to remove him. He has been made by the Congress,” claimed Swamy even as he attended a protest and hunger strike held by Delhi BJP MP Mahesh Giri outside Kejriwal’s official residence. Akin to his personal attacks on Rajan, addressed in letters to the Prime Minister, Swamy attacked Kejriwal.

“All his life he (Kejriwal) has done fraud. He says he was a meritorious student in IIT, but I have records of how he got his admission… which I will reveal in a press conference,” Swamy said.

Giri has been fasting in protest against the Aam Aadmi Party’s allegations of his probable role in the murder of NDMC official MM Khan. The East Delhi MP has challenged Kejriwal to an open debate on all allegations levelled against him. In response, the AAP released a letter written by Giri to Lieutenant Governer Najeeb Jung allegedly in support of a hotel owner whom the party calls Khan’s “murderer”.
