PM took a jibe at Chowdhury saying, "Sabhapati ji meri aapse vinti hai Renuka ji ko kuch mat kahiye. Ramayan serial ke baad aisi hansi sunne ka saubhagya aaj jaake mila hai."
Attacking PM Narendra Modi for his remark against her loud laughter, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chowdhury said that it denigrated the status of a woman.

"He has once made a long speech against Aadhar card publically. Now he is saying that Aadhar was conceptualized when Advani Ji (Lal Krishna Advani ) was there. This shocking claim made me laugh. He passed a personal comment against me. Denigrating a status of a woman is a crime. It is now established beyond doubt that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is against women. How can a Prime Minister speak like this? This shows his culture. I can't go to that extent," said Chowdhury to ANI.

Chowdhury had burst into a laughter yesterday during PM Modi's Rajya Sabha speech, in which he countered Congress's claim of being the originator of Aadhaar by saying that the then Home Minister L K Advani had in 1998 spoken about an all-purpose national ID in Rajya Sabha.

Following this, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu had chided the members for their "unbecoming" behaviour and asked them to resume their places.

Reacting upon Naidu's statement, PM took a jibe at Chowdhury saying, "Sabhapati ji meri aapse vinti hai Renuka ji ko kuch mat kahiye. Ramayan serial ke baad aisi hansi sunne ka saubhagya aaj jaake mila hai."
