The Hanuman art, released a year ago, became popular beyond Acharya’s expectations. The PM had mentioned it while addressing party workers in Mangaluru before the assembly elections. Acharya has now shared the Rama image on social media.
“The art on Sri Rama was ready a month ago and I have an idea of launching T-shirts with the image on it,” said Acharya, who runs a company, Paridhi Media Works with his wife Pooja, brother-in-law Gurudeep and friend Havish. “We launched the T-shirts with vector art on Sri Rama online in Bengaluru on Thursday. I had uploaded the image only to wish people who observe ‘Ramayana masa’. I never expected such a huge response,” said Acharya, who works at a design studio in Bengaluru.
The work took 20-30 minutes. He said: “The Rama that I created has a stoic expression, which reflects the moment when he was about to kill Ravana.” Acharya said he did not have a profit motive in mind when he launched the Hanuman art. Many companies went on to use the image on Tshirts and posters without permission. “I have not received any profit after creating Anjaneya. This time, I expect companies to get my permission before using it for commercial purposes,” he said.
What next? “People have been tweeting me to work on Lord Narasimha and Bhagat Singh, but I have Sita from Ramayana in mind, which I want to create with an emphasis on women power,” he said.
