GUWAHATI: After almost 14 days, wildfire in the Dzükou valley along the Nagaland and Manipur border has been doused.

Nagaland Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, in a review meeting on Monday, decided to put a request for de-inducting the IAF helicopters deployed to douse the conflagration since no fresh fire was reported by both the ground and air teams for the past few days.

It was also decided that de-induction of five NDRF teams deployed at base camp will be carried out from January 12.


The DEF Kohima, Forest department and SAYO Volunteers will station at the base camp to monitor the status for few days.
