'Advani has threatened to launch a yatra, these yatras have always divided the nation, it will not achieve its purpose'
JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Congress today said veteran BJP leader L K Advani's proposed country-wide yatra against corruption will not achieve its purpose as such campaigns tend to "divide the nation".
"Advani has space in both the Houses (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha). He can fight (over the issue) democratically. He can fight together with the Prime Minister (over corruption)," JKPCC chief Saifuddin Soz told reporters here.
"Advani has threatened to launch a yatra. These yatras have always divided the nation. India is a mature democracy. It (yatra) will not achieve its purpose," Soz said.
He said Congress has an "ideological battle with the BJP and that would always continue".
"They are always on extreme right. They bring in religion into politics and come with parochial attitude," Soz said.
