Advani talks BJP's future with RSS chief

NEW DELHI: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat here on Monday evening in an attempt to prepare the road map for the BJP's future.

The meet between the two Sangh parivar stalwarts came on the eve of the declaration of a new set of BJP's officebearers in Parliament. At the saffron outfit's first parliamentary party meeting held in the 15th Lok Sabha on Sunday, Mr Advani was unanimously elected the leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and was authorised to nominate the remaining officebearers in the two Houses.

Mr Advani's meeting with the RSS chief is being viewed in party circles as a precursor to far-reaching changes in the BJP���s organisational set-up across the country. After the declaration of the Lok Sabha results, the RSS had clearly indicated that time had come for the BJP to hand over the reins of the party to younger leaders. Mr Advani was accompanied at the Monday's meeting by Madan Das Devi, who is the RSS pointsman for the BJP.
