Advani slave of RSS, cannot decide anything on own: Sonia

Sonia said Advani can't take any decision on his own 'without RSS fear'.

KARNATAKA: Calling L K Advani as a "slave of RSS", Congress President Sonia Gandhi today upped the ante ridiculing the BJP prime ministerial candidate's 'strong leader' pitch saying he cannot take any decision on his own "without the fear of RSS".

"It is Advani, who is a slave of RSS because he wants to protect his chair. This is the reason why he panders to each and every wish of RSS," Gandhi told an election rally here

Sonia's comments came against the backdrop of the saffron leader's oft repeated charge that Singh was a weak prime minister and that he cannot take any decision without consulting her.

Dismissing the charge by Advani as a "useless one", she asked whether the senior BJP leader could take any decision on his own "without the fear of RSS".

Gandhi said when Advani was BJP President he had given a "secular certificate" to Jinnah during his visit to Pakistan, which created a furore in the RSS and ultimately led to his resignation from the post.

"Advani must remember that a Prime Minister does not belong to one party but to the whole nation and an insult to him is an insult to the whole country," she said.

"Now the choice is left to the people. They have to decide who is weak, whether it is Prime Minister Manmohan Singh or BJP leader L K Advani," Gandhi said.
