Adnan Sami has not paid IT returns since 2009, alleges BJP
MUMBAI: Pakistani musician Adnan Sami, who was yesterday issued a notice by the Mumbai Police for overstaying in India after his visa expired earlier this month, had not submitted the income tax returns since 2009, the Maharashtra BJP alleged here today.

Addressing a press conference party spokesperson Shaina NC also claimed that Sami has acquired several properties in the city even though his bank accounts have been frozen.

She further said that the Pakistani singer did not take permission from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in acquiring properties. "They (acquiring properties) were in complete violation of the RBI guidelines. Sami who has been staying in the country since last 14 years has not filed his income tax returns since 2009," she added.

BJP demands that Sami should be deported to his country, Shaina said.

Sami could not be contacted for comments on the allegation.
