Additional chief secy too demands CBI probe over DK Ravi's death
BENGALURU: Senior IAS officer and Additional Chief Secretary M Madan Gopal on Wednesday urged chief minister Siddaramaiah to hand over the case of DK Ravi's death to CBI as the tragic event requires inquiry by an outside agency in the interest of impartiality and fairness.
He told ET that he and some of his colleagues have signed a petition seeking a CBI probe on change.org, and the same has received more than 1.5 lakh signatories. "If the chief minister orders a CBI probe, it will bring laurels to him," he said. Everytime an officer meets his tragic end, theories around his personal life are floated, Madan Gopal said.Ravi, according to him, was a young IAS officer with grit and determination, but he was transferred out of Kolar.

"The CBI probe, if ordered, would not only cover the death but also the circumstances under which he was transferred out of Kolar, and the persons behind it. The transfer itself would have traumatised him," Madan Gopal said.
