Adarsh scam: Maha Governor refuses permission to prosecute Chavan
The probe agency had accused Chavan of approving additional FSI to Adarsh society in exchange of two flats for his relatives.

"Yes, the Governor has refused permission to CBI to prosecute Chavan," a senior government official told PTI.
In the charge-sheet, the probe agency had accused Chavan of approving additional FSI (floor space index) to Adarsh society in exchange of two flats for his relatives.
Chavan was also charged with illegally approving as the Revenue Minister the allotment of 40 per cent of the flats to civilians when the society was meant for Kargil war widows and defence personnel.
The controversy prompted his resignation as the Chief Minister in 2010.
