Adarsh effect: BMC to provide building details on website
"All necessary details of societies or buildings in the city will be put up on the BMC's website within a month," Additional Municipal Commissioner Aseem Gupta said today.
The details would include the occupational certificate of the housing society, no objection certificates from authorities, ownership of the property, area of the building or the society and number of floors permitted, among others.
"All necessary details of societies or buildings in the city will be put up on the BMC's website within a month," Additional Municipal Commissioner Aseem Gupta said today.
The municipal body's move comes a few months after the irregularities in the Adarsh society came to light. The plush 31-storey building in south Mumbai, overlooking defence establishments has been built in alleged violation of rules.
The BMC has also updated services like issuing birth and death certificates, licences for shops, factory and establishments, health and nursing homes, advertising and hoarding licences, among others, on its website.
"With this we intend to bring in more transparency and prompt services to the people. People can ascertain whether a particular shop or nursing home is licensed or not. They can also download database, which will be updated from time-to- time," Gupta said.
