Action against Tripura government officials for ordering books
General Secretary of Opposition Congress in Tripura Ashok Sinha said, "It was an instance of misusing power which cannot be acceptable."

Deputy Director of School Education, holding the charge of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), Ambalika Datta was suspended from job and Additional Director of School Education D K Debbarma was warned for issuing the order to buy the books without government permission, School Education Director Pradip Kumar Chakraborty told reporters.
An inquiry was on and the government also cancelled the order in the wake of the controversy, he said.
The books were "Atit Diner Smriti" ( Reminiscence of past) written by the chief minister Manik Sarkar and "Making One plus One Eleven - Some Experiences of Tripura" edited by former chief secretary Sanjay Kumar Panda.
Altogether, 839 schools under RMSA were ordered to buy the books in the current fiscal, Chakraborty said.
