Accused is asking questions: CBI chief on PC Parakh
NEW DELHI: Terming former coal secretary PC Parakh’s nine questions to the CBI in his book as "the height of his arrogance", CBI Director Ranjit Sinha told ET that he wondered if Parakh had put the "cart before the horse" by questioning the CBI. "Parakh is an accused in one of our coal block allocation cases. So this is a unique case where an accused is asking questions from the investigating agency. I must assure him that he will face some detailed questioning from the CBI soon," Sinha said.

He also complimented former CAG Vinod Rai for taking a more balanced view of the matter wherein Rai said he was sure Parakh would get a clean chit from the CBI. "I had told you the first day the FIR against Parakh and Kumar Mangalam Birla was lodged, that if we find nothing in the case, we will close the case and no chargesheet will be filed," Sinha said, referring to an interview given by him to ET on October 17 last year. "Parakh has to show some trust and faith in the CBI. We are not a bunch of morons. The investigation is still on."
