Accused cannot withdraw money in urea scam

The Supreme Court on Monday restrained Tunckay Alankus and other foreign nationals accused in the Rs 133 crore Urea scam case from withdrawing the money from their bank accounts in Switzerland.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday restrained Tunckay Alankus and other foreign nationals accused in the Rs 133 crore Urea scam case from withdrawing the money from their bank accounts in Switzerland.
A Bench headed by Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal also confirmed the stay on the Delhi High Court order allowing them to record the testimony of additional defence witnesses through video conferencing at the cost of the Government.
The Court admitted the appeal filed by the CBI and state-owned National Fertlizers Ltd against the High Court order.
