ACB to conduct probe against HDIL, its Directors

Maharashtra ACB will conduct a probe against HDIL and its Directors for alleged fraudulence in regards to development of a housing project in Bandra Kurla Complex.

MUMBAI: Maharashtra's Anti-Corruption Bureau ( ACB) will conduct a probe against HDIL and its Directors for alleged fraudulent practices in regards to development of a housing project in upscale Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) here, the realty major said today.

"The company would like to state that an investigation has been ordered against the company and its Directors, subsequent to the directions by the Honourable Sessions Court, (on a complaint filed) by a private party under Section 156(3) of CrPC to be conducted by ACB, without notice to the company," HDIL said in a statement here.

"The probe is with regards to our project under- development at BKC which has been duly approved by MHADA (Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority) under the SRA (Slum Rehabilitation Authority) scheme."

The case has been filed with malicious intent and the company has all the requisite approvals issued by statutory authorities, the statement said.

"We are in the process of seeking remedy from the Honourable Courts and are confident that the false claim against us will be disposed off."

Anjali Awasti, the counsel for the complainant, Munir Inamdar, said the FIR registered by the ACB has also named Raigad District Collector Subhash Sonawane.
