About 300 police personnel deployed at IGI airport

NEW DELHI: Close to 300 personnel from Delhi Police are deployed at IGI airport while 200 are deputed at Metro stations here, Rajya Sabha was informed today.

"The number of Delhi Police personnel posted at IGI airport and Delhi Metro stations as on December 31, 2012 is 296 and 200 respectively," Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran said in a written reply.

CISF personnel posted at IGI airport and Metro stations are responsible for the security of these establishments, whereas the duties of Delhi Police personnel are confined to investigation of crime occurring there, he said.
