Abhishek Banerjee's office files complaint against Kolkata Mayor's OSD

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress national general secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee's office on Friday lodged a police complaint against Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim's officer on special duty (OSD) Kalicharan Bandopadhyay, accusing him of extorting money in the name of Banerjee.

According to officials at Banerjee's office, the complaint was filed at the Shakespeare Sarani Police Station on Thursday evening against the Officer on OSD in Firhad Hakim's office.

Asked about the complaint, mayor Hakim said he "will look into the matter". The OSD said that he will not comment on the matter now. Opposition BJP and the CPI-M said the issue highlighted rampant corruption prevalent in West Bengal's ruling party.
